Miyako's Introduction (Perkenalan Miyako)

Coba gunakan percakapan berikut untuk berlatih melakukan perkenalan. Boleh sendiri atau berdua. Dengarkan mp3 dan ikuti (usahakan cara pengucapan/pronunciationnya benar). Jika sudah lancar, coba ganti kata Australian dengan Indonesian atau kebangsaan lainnya. Ganti juga kata Sydney dengan nama kota yang sesuai. Nama Miyako, John, dan kata-kata lain seperti Kobe juga sebaiknya diganti-ganti.

Meeting John

Miyako is a student at a Japanese university. John is an overseas student from Australia. It’s the first day of a new term.

Miyako: Hi, I’m Miyako. What’s your name?
John: I’m John. My name is John.
Miyako: Nice to meet you. Where are you from?
John: I’m Australian. I’m from Sydney. How about you? Where are you from?
Miyako: I’m from Kobe originally. Do you know Kobe?
John: Yeah, it’s on the coast, isn’t it?
Miyako: That’s right. It’s a port city. Is Sydney on the coast too?
John: Yes, it is. It’s a port city too.

Vocabularies:
1. overseas student = mahasiswa/siswa dari luar negeri
2. new term = semester baru
3. originally = asli/aslinya
4. coast = pantai
5. port city = kota pantai
